Now, I don’t mean the perfect version of you in your head that always has the dishes and laundry done in a picture perfect, clean but lived in house, with a constantly happy and loving husband, and smart, healthy, always obedient and joyful kids.
I mean the perfect you that God created.
Someone unique and different from anyone else.
But who is she?
If you’re reading this, I think it’s probably safe to say you don’t know who she is.
Neither do I.
There’s only One who does 🙂
And He wants to tell you.
I don’t know myself fully yet either.
But, I am discovering her in His eyes. And I actually love her.
I love who I am.
Who He created me to be.
I’m thankful for the way He made me, and I’m actually proud of who I am.
I’m not proud of all my actions.
But that’s the thing…. I am not the accumulation of my actions.
My identity, my value, who I am, is not only found IN Him, it’s defined by Him too.
So, when He says in His Word that I am loved with the same passionate love that the Father has for Jesus.. it’s true. (John17:23)
Even when my feelings and understanding don’t match that.
When He says I am the righteous of God.. it’s true. (2 Cor. 5:21)
Even when I mess up.
So, that means that my state of righteousness isn’t determined by my actions…
It’s determined by Jesus’ blood.
Which was freely given – at no cost to me. But at a high price for Him.
And when I accepted Him – Jesus, righteousness was imputed to me in the same way Adam imputed a sin nature into all of humanity.
Read that again.
If Adam, a man, can impute a sin nature by what he did and who he listened to, how much more can Jesus, a man (second Adam) and God, impute to us righteousness by what He did and Who He listened to (His Father).
So, therefore I AM righteous by faith in Christ, and my actions can’t change that because it wasn’t my actions that imputed it to me. It was Christ.
So, if He says I am the righteousness of God by faith in Jesus then .. I am.
That’s one example of who we are. And there are multiple things that Scripture tells us about who all believers are.
But, there is also a unique you.
That only the Trinity knows.
And He wants to show you.
If you’re *hidden in Christ, then you must be *found in Christ.
Christ reveals the Father. And He reveals Him to be good.
Seek Him.
Ask to see His face.
He’s already promised that He is a rewarder to those who seek Him and He has promised that we will find Him when we seek Him. (Jer. 29:13)
It’s a done deal.
Except for your seeking.
So seek Him. Ask Him how you’re supposed to seek Him.
And as He reveals His face, He will also reveal who you are.
The perfect you.
Not just the you in Heaven.
The perfect you now.
And under the law of the Spirit, which we have access to now since Jesus died and the Holy Spirit came to live in us, you are free to just be you.
With Him.
And it’s perfect.
And beautiful. and full of joy and peace.
I speak from experience.
It’s good. So good.
You are beautiful.
And fully accepted and loved.
Ask Him to show you. 🤍
