Mentors generally tell you to “define your why” when you start something. There are several reasons I started blogging as a stay at home mom and maybe you can relate to some of them.
I do want to continue to be a stay at home mom, but I also want to contribute financially to our family. Obviously since my family and household are priority, I need something than can be done during nap time.
I also want to do something I enjoy that helps other people.
While I think “just being” a wife and mother is enough! (You’ll hear me say that over and over again) I do want to continue to help bring in income for our family because I enjoy buying things. (who doesn’t).
And I want an outlet.
Some people have hobbies, busy schedules, or a job outside the home.
But, this mama wants the freedom to spend the majority of my time with my son (and future kids).
And blogging seems like an extension of what I already love and do.
I used to feel pretty lame when people asked me what my hobbies are. Most people say things like hiking, traveling, a sport, something crafty, or some outdoor activity.
I’m over here like “I like keeping my house clean, and I geek out on finding and using non-toxic beauty and home products.” (my fave “clean” beauty line)
All my friends know I’m a bit (or a lot) overboard on making sure everything our family uses and eats doesn’t have harmful chemicals.
Because of that, I end up getting a lot of questions about what non-toxic beauty and home products I use. Or, I get asked what safe alternatives I recommend for someone when they’re trying to switch over to a non-toxic lifestyle too.
Blogging provides a quick and easy resource for you while also being an outlet and source of income for me.
Best part!? You’re fully in charge of what you do with the information I provide. Take what you want, leave what you don’t. No feelings hurt.
Also, my income comes from affiliate links and ads, which costs you nothing.
If you do want to purchase something I recommend and love using, I would appreciate you using my link as I do receive a small commission at no extra cost to you.
I do really want this blog to be a resource to you! Feel free to drop a comment on what safe alternatives you’d like to hear about, and feel free to message me on Instagram.
